The COVID-19 Medical Device Regulatory Convergence Project (MDRC) is an initiative under the Standards Alliance: Phase 2, a public-private partnership between U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and implementation partners to support the capacity of developing countries in the areas of legal and regulatory framework, standards development, conformity assessment procedures, and private sector engagement.
The MDRC in particular is focused on working with National Regulatory Authorities to build capacities to address and eliminate COVID-19 regulatory and customs-related bottlenecks that prevent medical technologies from reaching countries, points of care and patients.
